So, guess what's been on my mind lately? Outdoor spaces! With the warmer weather rolling in, I'm itching to give my patio a refresh. It seems like everywhere I turn, stores are stocked with vibrant summer decor, and I can't help but picture my outdoor oasis in full swing.
Speaking of outdoor makeovers, we just released a new blog post packed with tips and tricks for transforming your outdoor space into a true retreat. Head over to our blog and check it out. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Here's to making this summer one to remember with new outdoor vibes!

Picture stepping outside your door and feeling like you've been transported to a luxurious getaway. That's one of the hottest trends of the season - creating a resort-style outdoor oasis right in your own backyard.
So, how do you achieve that five-star feel? It's all about the details. Think sculptured lounge chairs, cozy seating areas, and chic umbrellas for lounging poolside. Stick with neutral colors and sculptural forms. Pick one or two pieces that make a statement and keep the rest simple. It’s about blending comfort, style and nature. So don’t forget about some great outdoor planters to add a touch of green to your patio. And lastly, add in some stylish outdoor rugs, throw pillows, and lanterns to create an ambiance that's equal parts stylish and serene.
Here are some of my favorites of the season:
Target has this awesome set of black sculpted lounge chairs with rope detail that are funky enough to make a statement, yet versatile enough to go on any patio. (And they are on sale!)
CB2 is killing it this season with their black and white pagoda outdoor umbrella! Seriously obsessed with this look.
Rather than the normal planter you see, West Elm has come up with something a bit more sculptural with their urn style planter that will turn your greenery into an eye-catcher.
Yet again, Target has done a great job curating their list of designers. Opalhouse’s canopy chair is sure to make a resort-style statement.
Your patio is one of those spots that really connects us - to ourselves, to others, and to nature. It's a place where we chill with friends, family, and our fur babies. That's why it's becoming super important to look for ways to make it part of our home, instead of just ignoring it. Use this trend to embrace the concept this summer!
Don’t just decorate your outdoor space, curate it.
Are you tired of watching your outdoor furniture wear out from the sun, rain, salt, and all the outdoor elements it's exposed to? I’m going to let you in on some designer tips when it comes to picking outdoor furniture. It all comes down to quality.
When it comes to outdoor furniture, investing in quality pieces is key. Look for materials like teak, aluminum, or synthetic wicker that are durable and weather-resistant. Teak, for example, is perfect for coastal regions or tropical climates, thanks to its resistance to humidity and natural oils that ward off rot and decay. On the other hand, aluminum thrives in various environments, from coastal areas to urban settings, due to its rust and corrosion resistance. And don't forget synthetic wicker, ideal for outdoor spaces exposed to sun, rain, and humidity, offering durability and style without compromising comfort.
Pay attention to construction and craftsmanship, too. Opt for furniture with sturdy frames, reinforced joints, and rust-resistant hardware to ensure longevity. Look for fabrics that are fade-resistant like acrylic or Sunbrella fabrics. Make sure your cushions are constructed to repel water and facilitate airflow. Keep an eye out for these words - quick-drying fabrics, open-cell foam, built-in drainage channels, and perforated or mesh materials.
And finally, don't forget about maintenance. Even the highest-quality outdoor furniture requires some upkeep to keep it looking its best. Invest in covers to protect your furniture from the elements when it's not in use, and give it regular cleaning and maintenance to prolong its lifespan.
Reader’s Question: I want to add some greenery to my patio, but I don't have a green thumb. What are some low-maintenance plants that I won’t kill?
